Island Aid Program Announced

For the first time in 20 years the Governor of West Sumatra visited the Mentawais. Governor Gamawan Fauzi called a meeting of all West Sumatra's regional leaders (Bupatis) for a historic coordination meeting in Tua Pajet, the islands administrative center. Telkom sent their team out on Electric Lamb to join the meetings and to inaugurate a new internet service for the islands.

The new hospital in Tua Pajet was also opened. Island Aid and Kirekat announced their new partnership and the Artisanal Fishboat Program was explained to Mentawai administration staff.
